What is your go-to approach in sessions?

My go-to approach for helping people in our medication check-ins is making sure that you are aware and comfortable with the treatment plan. I strive to answer any questions and address any concerns before we finalize your plan.

What is your typical approach to prescribing medications?

I firmly believe that medication and therapy go hand-in-hand. I try to make sure that any medication changes will enhance your ability to fully participate in therapy.

Do you teach clients any therapeutic tools in sessions?

I know that my clients are making meaningful progress when they tell me that they are engaging in activities they used to enjoy, whether that it is spending time with friends and family or participating in their hobbies.

What can clients do in their personal time to supplement psychiatric treatment?

I always encourage clients to practice learned coping strategies to build confidence in their use of their skills. I also encourage my clients to try to get outside and in nature for a little bit each day.

What should someone do to prepare for starting psychiatric care?

To prepare for their first visit, I would encourage clients to check out their provider's profile on the Thriveworks website. I would also encourage you to compile a list of any previously trialed medications.

Greenville, SC Psychiatry – Meet With Board-Certified Psychiatric Providers

Counseling for mental health concerns, such as depression and anxiety, is very effective and many people benefit greatly from meeting with a licensed professional therapist to improve the quality of their lives.  For some people, the combination of medication management with counseling has proven to be helpful.  In the same way that diet and exercise has helped many people lower their blood pressure or manage their diabetes, medication management has helped people stabilize their mood, increase focus, and treat symptoms of depression.  Simply put, it can help increase the benefits of mental health therapy.

Thriveworks’ psychiatric nurse practitioners offer medication management in Greenville, SC.  Our nurse practitioners are fully licensed, board certified, and have the understanding and credentials to prescribe the medication that’s right for you. They’ll even tell you when medication is not needed. Reach out today to partner with a psychiatric nurse practitioner and get the care you’re looking for.

What Are Medication Management Services?

Psychiatric nurse practitioners play an important role on the Thriveworks clinical team. Not only can they prescribe medications to treat mental health concerns, they can also help clients manage their existing psychiatric medications, and even develop a plan to transition off these medications if that’s medically appropriate.

Psychiatric nurse practitioners collaborate with the clinical team at Thriveworks Greenville, SC.  Clients who currently meet with a mental health counselor at Thriveworks benefit from having a clinical team that works together to develop a plan of care that’s right for each person. Additionally, for clients seeking medication management in Greenville, Thriveworks psychiatric nurse practitioners can also make therapist recommendations for those who are interested in talk therapy.

Who May Benefit from Medication Management Services?

Oftentimes, we believe that only the most severe mental health conditions require medication management.  While it’s often true that conditions, such as schizophrenia, are helped with the use of prescribed medication, many other mental health concerns can be supported by medication management, as well.  Psychiatric medication has been shown to help issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, insomnia, and adjustment disorders, in some clients.

Schedule a Greenville Medication Management Appointment

There’s no need to wait any longer – call Thriveworks Medication Management in Greenville, SC today.  We’ll help you get connected with a licensed, board certified, psychiatric nurse practitioner to see if medication management is right for you.  If so, we’ll work with you to find an appropriate medication to help you manage your mental health concerns.  If medication management is not the right option for you, we’ll let you know; and if you’d prefer, we’ll connect you with a licensed professional counselor who will guide you on a pathway to healing and empowerment.

Finding a medication manager can be difficult.  Most offices are not accepting clients, and those that are, often don’t accept insurance. At Thriveworks Medication Management of Greenville, SC, we accept most major insurance plans and offer flexible appointment times, making it both affordable and convenient to get the support you need.  Call today to see if medication management is right for you. I have been seeing a therapist via Thriveworks every other week for several months and I couldn't be happier. The intake form was easy to fill out and somehow managed to put me with someone who works perfectly with me. She works at my pace, she understands and works towards our goals, and she helps me to see things more clearly as we process the issues at hand. She never 'tells me' what the issue is or how to solve but instead she leads me there so I can see it on my own as that is much more effective. I was very nervous about online therapy but after this experience with Kristen, I would recommend it to everyone, regardless of the severity of their issues. Kristen is a true professional and can ebb and flow as I am ready to process things. She has been a game changer for me, my family, and my colleagues.

Mr Sachs has been outstanding with his handling of our sessions. Personally, I believe that therapy/counseling is truly a personal experience and the therapist needs to be matched to the patient as much as the patient with the therapist. I feel like he was a perfect fit for what we needed with our sessions.
