Starting Life coaching

What is life coaching?

Life coaching is a personalized support system that helps individuals clarify goals, develop action plans, and navigate challenges. Coaches employ effective communication and active listening to assist clients in overcoming obstacles, unlocking their potential, and achieving personal growth for a more fulfilling life.

How does life coaching work?

In life coaching, our coaches utilize diverse therapeutic techniques that are tailored to individuals, including cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, mindfulness, and positive psychology approaches. They also utilize active listening and empathetic communication to provide a supportive space for you to explore and achieve personal goals and overcome challenges, fostering personal growth and clarity.

Is life coaching conducted in person or online?

Life coaching with our therapists in Bastrop, TX is conducted both in person and virtually via online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.

How long does life coaching last?

The number of life coaching sessions someone attends can differ based on the coach and the client’s choices. How many sessions are needed and how often they occur often hinges on the client’s objectives and the complexity of their concerns. Some clients might opt for a few sessions to tackle particular goals or issues, while others may decide on ongoing coaching sessions to work on personal growth and life enhancement over a more extended period of time. Thriveworks Bastrop therapists work with clients to create goals and potential timelines for treatment.

Life Coaching at Thriveworks Bastrop, TX

At Thriveworks in Bastrop, TX the Life Coaches are experienced about the many issues that hamper people from achieving personal and professional growth, working with them on motivation and as sounding boards. For the past decade, Life Coaches at Thriveworks have worked with thousands of people to help them take advantage of their strengths and set goals that lead to a fuller, happier life.

Life Coaching in Bastrop, TX Focuses on the Things You Want in Life

Remember as a child when you and your friends would dream about what you wanted to be when you grew up, where you wanted to live and the things you would accomplish? As adults, many people take on the responsibilities of marriage, children, work and countless obligations that life brings their way. They rarely, if ever, have the time to reflect on what they really want or what their dreams are.

Life Coaches ask these “Miracle Questions” and explore the answers to help clients determine and communicate the goals they want to achieve. The Life Coaches at Thriveworks will work with you to identify the issues that keep you from moving ahead and focus on what you want in life.

Settings for Life Coaching

The Life Coaches at Thriveworks will work with you to make priorities and set targets; learn about how to take care of yourself; discover your talents and potential; follow through on intentions and promises; and more.

There are many settings, where a Life Coach can work with you, including the following situations.

1) Some people experience setbacks in their lives, such as illnesses. They may have to be out of work, cut down on their activities and depend on others for the things they need. In situations where people are out of work for long lengths of time, money can be tight. In addition, people who were normally full of energy might have had to slow down in order to recuperate. They may have had to cut out socializing, going out on the weekends and the many other things they enjoyed because of financial difficulties caused by the illness or the doctor’s orders. All of these changes have disrupted the way they lived before, and it’s causing depression on top of everything else.

Life Coaches will work with people who are recuperating from an illness to make a list of priorities for their lives and set realistic targets for their goals, as well as identify the ways they can help themselves lead and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

2) Sometimes people are unhappy in their marriage or with their partner, but they are afraid to make a move. The relationship has not been harmonious for years, and there is no excitement or fun to look forward to. The couple has no common interests or activities to share, and they are basically living like roommates. Afraid to make a move, they question if there is anything better for them out there. What if they leave and find they made a mistake? What if they couldn’t find happiness anywhere else? So, they just stay in the relationship and endure the day-to-day existence and are hopeless and afraid.

Life Coaches will work with you to identify the fears you struggle with, find a game plan to help you to step out of your comfort zone and strategize ways to get to your goal of living a fully rewarding and happy life.

3) You raised your children, and now they have left the nest and are off at college. While they were children and adolescents, you were there to help them with their homework, assist them with projects, volunteered for committees at the school and made certain they had all of the tools they needed to become successful, vibrant young adults. You took pride in your “job” of being a stay-at-home mother and enjoyed every minute of it. Now that the kids are out of the house, you feel an overwhelming sadness. Where you once were needed and an integral part of your family’s life, you are now left with a lot of time to fill and feel like you just exist.

A Life Coach will work with you to find out what your talents and experiences are and make a plan on how you can use them—a part-time or full-time job, a business you never had time for, volunteer work to help others or courses at college, for example. A Life Coach will work with you to identify what you want and make a goal so you can get there.

I have been working with Dr. Covey for almost 6 months now and she has been excellent. I feel like I am heard and understood even when I have a hard time expressing things myself and putting thoughts into words. Having someone who can actually listen and provide the resources to assist myself with past trauma and current challenges has been a life changer.

This is prior to being seen so this is strictly based on first impressions upon entering the building. The waiting area is nice but undefined as to where one should go nor any indications as to what is needed to be done. No one was there to greet us nor was there any desk or window to suggest someone would. We looked for the therapist's office but no doors had any identification to point us in the right direction. At this point we're at the mercy of the clock alerting the therapist to seek us out in the waiting area in order to be seen. Not the best first impression. I will update this review if and when we are seen.
