What is teen counseling?

Teen counseling helps young individuals better understand and manage the challenges that affect their mental health. Common challenges amongst teens include anxiety, depression, ADHD, and problematic relationships with food.

How does teen counseling work?

Teen counseling works by using multiple techniques, tailored to fit the teen’s unique needs — based on their age group, their challenges, and the severity of their challenges. It might involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, art therapy, and others for varying ages. I have to give Joleann nothing less than a 5 star review all the way. Her leadership skills were on display every day in the Psychiatric Rehab department. Leading a staff of more than 8 people in the department was no easy task and yet Joey did this with, what appeared to be, great ease. Extremely organized and ready to handle any situation that may arise. She always made time for her staff when ever any kind of guidance or support was needed. Even if it was just a smile and a few positive words to help make your day go a little brighter. On a personal level Joleann is a very empathetic and professional clinician. Going through several months of dealing with a personal tragedy she was there to listen, offer guidance and support whenever needed. She even helped answer questions when it came to confusing paperwork or dealing with frustrating phone calls that needed to be made. She is a true asset to the team.
